Hey everyone,
It’s time for another update from the Karmen development team! We’ve been hard at work, and we’d like to share some new features that we’ve added to Karmen this week. These updates are designed to make your 3D printing experience even more seamless and efficient.
What’s New in Karmen?
1. Print Files Stored Directly on the Printer
You can now easily print files that are stored on your printer (in Klipper or Octoprint). This makes it much simpler to start prints that are not stored in Karmen (for example, if they are too big 200+MB to print from the cloud easily). In the next versions, we’ll definitely improve it based on your feedback.
2. EMERGENCY STOP Functionality
Safety first! We’ve added an EMERGENCY STOP feature, allowing you to immediately shut down your printer if something goes wrong. Just one click, and you can halt the process instantly, giving you peace of mind during your prints.
3. Enhanced Printer List Actions
We’ve introduced even more actions that you can perform directly from the printer list. Whether you need to start, pause, or stop a print job, or even switch between different tasks, it’s all right at your fingertips. In the coming weeks, we’ll add more actions you can perform with your printers from the printer list.
4. Easy Re-Print Option
If you frequently print the same file, you’ll love this new feature. We’ve made it super easy to start a re-print on your printer. No need to go through the setup again—just select re-print, and you’re good to go! And it’s super fast because when re-printing, the file doesn’t have to be uploaded to the printer again, so it just starts immediately.
5. Change Filament Type in the Print Dialog
You can now change the filament type directly from the print dialog. This allows you to make quick adjustments without having to navigate through multiple menus.
Many of these new features are based on your feedback, ideas, and suggestions, so I hope they will speed up your processes with 3D printers and allow us to further extend Karmen. Special thanks to @pavel1, @voyczech, @sales, and many others for all the feedback.
We’re always looking to improve, so if you have any requests or suggestions, feel free to share them with us. Your feedback helps us prioritize what to work on next to best support your 3D printing needs.
Have a great weekend, and happy printing!
