User Permissions, Bulk User Upload and print que (not just) for Jobox

The number of users on Karmen is growing at an astonishing pace. This is the best motivation for us to further develop and enhance Karmen. Recently, we’ve been focusing mainly on schools, but we have updates for everyone. So, let’s take a few minutes to see what’s new in Karmen.

Four Levels of Permissions and Bulk User Import

Especially for schools and larger companies, we’ve added the option to invite students and collaborators to Karmen in bulk. Along with this, Karmen now offers more levels of user permissions.

You can now upload the email addresses of your collaborators or students, generated from your internal system or from Bakaláři. All it takes is confirming the invitation in an email and providing registration details.

In the application interface, you can customize the rights of selected users. We now offer four levels of permissions.

We’ve carefully prepared this functionality and had extensive discussions with users on our forum. Check out the entire thread and feel free to suggest further improvements if you have any in mind.

Print Queue and Integration with Jobox.tech

We often hear from you, “It would be great if someone could take the prints off the printer.” In the past, we tried to come up with automatic print removal, but we eventually abandoned that idea. Recently, we discovered an excellent yet very simple solution: Jobox. Moreover, it’s a highly reliable solution, so we’ve accelerated the development of an automatic print queue, which is currently in the testing phase and will soon be available in Karmen.

For now, we’re discussing this on our forum, and we’d appreciate it if you could take a look at our plans and share your opinion.

Maker faire 2023

As every year, we participated in the Brno Maker Faire, and it was fantastic once again. We showcased our automatic print queue solution. This year, we also focused on fellow makers and had plenty of wine and good spirits at our afterparty.

3D Printers PWS400k and PRUSA MK4

We enjoy collaborating with Print With Smile. With their PWS400k printers, you don’t need to buy or install anything to connect to our cloud service Karmen. Everything is ready from the factory, and all you need to do is pair your 3D printer with your Karmen account for security reasons.

PWS400k printers also have clever lighting that you can control directly from our application.

Of course, Karmen works with PRUSA MK3, MK4, Mini, and all other FDM printers. However, for secure remote management, you still need either Karmen Pill or your own solution with the Octoprint or Klipper plugin.

Classic Karmen Pill is available again

Raspberry Zero 2 is back in stock, and so are the classic versions of Karmen Pill, which are smaller and more elegant. :smirk:

We currently offer standard delivery to the Czech and Slovak Republics. However, if you get in touch with us, we’re more than happy to arrange international shipping as well.

Forum

If you have any questions or suggestions, we’d appreciate it if you could reach out to us through our forum. This way, we can share information and involve others in problem-solving discussions. The address is simple https://forum.karmen.tech/.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to collaborating and hearing your ideas.

Have a great day,
